Howard Polskin has spent his entire professional career working in the media.  As Executive Vice President of Communications & Events for MPA, which he joined in 2004, Mr. Polskin is responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, producing MPA events, and oversight of MPA’s website.

Mr. Polskin has been an active magazine industry digital leader.  He has produced the industry’s annual digital conferences since their inception in 2005.  Polskin also created and produced the first e-reading conference for magazine professionals in 2010.  Polskin developed and continues to write on an almost daily basis MPA’s popular “ERB” (e-reading blog), which is featured on MPA’s website.

He has an extensive background in public relations, digital media and journalism.  Prior to joining MPA in 2004, Polskin held the position of Vice President, Communications, for Sony Corporation of America, the parent company of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Electronics Inc., from 2000 to 2003. He also worked as CNN’s Vice President, Communications, from 1994 to 1999.  In his first year at Turner Broadcasting, from 1993 to 1994, he was Vice President, Communications, for the Turner Entertainment Group.
 
Mr. Polskin was a staff writer at TV Guide for a number of years where he wrote extensively about TV news and programming trends. He has written freelance articles for a variety of publications including The New York Times and New York Magazine.
