What can MPA membership do for you?
The American Magazine Conference: AMC is a members-only event hosted by MPA and ASME and has become the most important event of the consumer magazine industry, with more than 650 of the highest-level publishing executives and editors in attendance. The conference addresses big picture challenges and issues affecting the magazine industry and provides publishers and editors with valuable opportunities to exchange ideas with their peers.
The Retail ConferenceMarketing Magazines and Books: Sponsored by MPA and IPDA (International Periodical Distributors Association), this event is a unique gathering of hundreds of retailers, publishers, national distributors and wholesalers. The Retail Conference is the only national forum for the exchange of ideas and discussion of challenges for every segment of the periodicals single copy sales channel.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards: Co-sponsored by the MPA & ASME, this annual event presents two distinguished awards. The Henry Johnson Fisher Award, celebrating a passion for publishing by honoring publishers for lifetime achievement in the magazine industry and the Editors' Hall of Fame award, honors career-long achievement and excellence in magazine editing.
National Magazine Awards: Informally referred to as the "Ellies" (after the Alexander Calder stabile "Elephant" which is presented to each winner), the National Magazine Awards honor magazines that consistently demonstrate superior performance, innovative editorial techniques, noteworthy journalistic enterprise, and imagination and vigor in layout and design; and Internet sites that reflect an outstanding level of interactivity, journalistic integrity, service and innovative visual presentation.

American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME): ASME is the professional society for senior editors of consumer magazines, business-to-business magazines and farm publications, which are edited, published and sold in the U.S. Organized in 1963 as the successor to the editorial committee of the MPA, ASME now has more than 900 members.
Independent Magazine Group (MPA-IMAG): MPA-IMAG is a dynamic sub-group within the MPA membership, serving the specific business needs of independent magazines. Providing relevant programming, practical resources, and candid, collegial forums for the exchange of ideas and information, MPA-IMAG is an invaluable tool for independent publishers.
Publishers Information Bureau (PIB): PIB is a membership organization administered by MPA that tracks the amount and type of advertising carried by consumer magazines. PIB is recognized as the primary source for consumer magazine advertising data, with a membership representing roughly 85 percent of U.S. consumer magazine advertising volume. MPA members pay 50% less for PIB membership.
