Andy Clurman joined Active Interest Media as Group Publisher and Chief Operating Officer in October of 2003 when the company was formed by Skip Zimbalist. Clurman is directly responsible for the operational and overall management of AIM's current publications. Prior to joining AIM, Clurman served as Senior Vice President of Time4Media and President/Publisher of Mountain Sport Media. Under his leadership, these two divisions grew to comprise fifteen consumer and trade magazines, an award-winning film and television production unit, and category leading Internet, book, video/dvd publishing, and event marketing businesses. Mountain Sports and Transworld flourished launching five new magazines and acquiring four others doubling revenue with profits growing ten-fold. Before joining Time4 Media, Clurman was at Times Mirror where he worked on successful corporate initiatives including the launch of The Outdoor Life Network. Clurman also developed Times Mirror Magazine's first web property and introduced Freeze Magazine for teen skiers. In 1997 he orchestrated SKI and Skiing Magazine's successful relocation from New York City to Boulder Colorado and the formation of Mountain Sports Media. Clurman's 20-year career in special interest publishing began at Ziff Davis where he was a sales representative, regional sales manager, marketing director and finally, publisher of SKI and Skiing Magazines.

Rita Cohen has been Senior Vice President/Legislative and Regulatory Policy for Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) since 1999. She joined MPA's Washington office in 1995 as Director of Economic and Legislative Analysis. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Ms. Cohen is responsible for MPA policy regarding state and local government actions, taxation for magazines, environmental matters and consumer protection including privacy and marketing practices. Ms. Cohen has played a key role in the MPA's successful efforts to keep postal rates for magazines as low as possible. She was a major witness for the MPA in the last two rate cases before the Postal Rate Commission, and she is currently leading the industry efforts to find long-lasting solutions to stop escalating postal prices. Having joined the USPS in 1975, Ms. Cohen received a succession of promotions, ultimately being named Principal Operations Research Analyst. In 1986, she joined ICF Kaiser Consulting, a consulting firm with an emphasis on environment, energy and government policy. She became a vice president in 1993.

Michael Gnade graduated with a Masters in Economics from Tufts University in 2006. Mike has always had a passion for video games and has been involved in the indie game community since he graduated in 2006. The concept for the Indie Game Magazine was born on a Saturday while his fiance was out dress shopping. Noah Kalina is a photographer living and working in New York City. He is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Photography. His editorial work has been published in numerous magazines including Interview Magazine, Blender, New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Food and Wine, SEED, Esquire and I.D. Commercial clients include Brooklyn Industries, Neiman Marcus, Motorola, VH1, MTV and College Humor. Noah Kalina's is most famously known for his video project "everyday" which consists of 2356 self portrait photographs spanning six and a half years and has been viewed on YouTube over 12.5 million times. The television show "The Simpsons" parodied the video and the episode would go on to win an Emmy. Embraced not only online but in the art world, "everyday" has been shown in museums, galleries and film festivals around the world.

Don Peschke founded August Home Publishing in 1978 -- working out of his basement to produce the first issue of Woodsmith, a magazine for woodworkers that carries no advertising. The one-person publishing company he founded landed twice on Inc. magazine's list of the 500 fastest-growing privately-owned companies in America. In 1992, August Home launched a spin-off woodworking title, ShopNotes. Since then, the company has launched two more magazines: Garden Gate and Cuisine , both with no advertising. In 1996, Workbench was purchased and repositioned for home improvement enthusiasts. At Casabi, Rachel was responsible for strategic relationships and CE retail product launch programs with top tier partners including Motorola, Vtech, Yahoo!, Superpages, Plaxo, Sybase and more. Rachel spent five years with ITOCHU, one of the world’s largest trading companies, managing its subsidiary’s marketing strategy and business development with partners like Disney and the Jackie Chan Group. Rachel spent several years in advertising at InFreeDA, eVoice, and years earlier in advertising and marketing agencies acquired by Interpublic.

John B. Winsor, author and founder of Dial-a-Story, is the author of national magazine articles, a contributor to an anthology, author of Love of the Hunt, and is writing RiverStone. Set in Manhattan and Montana, RiverStone is an adventure novel about family secrets - deceit, betrayal, murder and love. He is General Partner of Winsor Communications, LLLP, formerly a media business that consisted of daily and suburban weekly newspapers, national magazines, Internet sites, printing, audio, radio and satellite communications companies. Winsor Communications now concentrates on investments. He is a past president of the Inland Daily Press Association and the Greater Yellowstone Coalition.

Tom Winsor, President and General Manager of Belvoir Equine Group, started his publishing efforts in 1994 with the launch of his first consumer newsletter, The Trail Less Traveled. With successes and failures, he continued to build his company through launches and acquisitions including Ride with Bob Avila, Spin to Win and Trail Rider magazines. In 2004 Tom developed a partnership with Belvoir Media Group to form Belvoir Equine Group (BEG) which currently employs 21 people producing more then 3,600 magazine and newsletter pages a year. BEG currently publishes three magazines-- Perfect Horse, Trail Rider and Spin To Win; a consumer reports style newsletter for the equine industry, The Horse Journal and a continuity book series, The John Lyons Library.
